So many wonderful memories ... wanted to capture some from each day in a "virtual scrapbook"!
Monday - Day 1, April 12
Jerry took me from Tahuya to Bev's in Lacey -
we were "on the road" by 9:30am!
We arrived in Corning CA about 8:30pm for our first night.
Tuesday - Day 2, April 13
Shopping at the Olive Pit started the day, then we headed
to Santa Nella for Pea soup, and out to the coast.
Enjoyed the 17 Mile Drive and coastline to Cambria for overnight.
Enjoyed time on the beach, a stop at Cayucos,
lunch and shopping in Solvang, and on to Oxnard.

Thursday - Day 4, April 15
Wonderful flowers along the way, especially enjoyed
the "Birds of Paradise". Took a quick drive through
the Pepperdine campus and had fish and chips in Malibu.
Continued down the coast to Oceanside ...
free McDonald's Frappe "samples" and an awesome sunset!!
Friday - Day 5, April 16
Left our huge room at Oceanside and headed to our destination
hotel in Gas Lamp area of San Diego, where we'd be sharing
a room with Diana from Wisconsin.
Enjoyed helping her with some ASSM conference tasks.

Saturday - Day 6, April 17
Had a morning "assignment" at Office Depot and enjoyeda scenic walk; Trina joined us in the afternoon!
Sunday - Day 7, April 18
Fun day with Trina, while Bev and Diana are at ASSM Conference ...
San Diego Wild Animal Park - loved the baby elephants; some late afternoon time by the pool, and dinner at Fred's Mexican Cafe!

Monday - Day 8, April 19
San Diego Trolley Tour highlights...Coronado, Balboa Park,
Old Town, Little Italy and Seaport Village!
Dinner with roommates at Fillippi's in Little Italy!
Tuesday - Day 9, April 20
Bev and Diana are done with the conference - we all go to the zoo -
especially loved the pandas! In the late afternoon,
we leave the "cozy" hotel room, load the car,
and start the journey home - spend the night in Bakersfield.
Wednesday - Day 10, April 21
Last full day in California...north on 99, stops in Traver and
Kingsburg, enjoyed our last In-N-Out burger, and saving $$$ while
beverage shopping at Costco and Liquor Barn. Spent the night
in Yreka and "dined" on Diana's Wisconsin cheese!
Thursday - Day 11, April 22
Last day on the road ... mix of gray and blue skies on the
way home; Mexican lunch and homecoming
dinner by Gloria at Bev's!
